Eksperimental'naia i klinicheskaia farmakologiia 2001 May-JunThe effect of the antihistaminic drug phencarol on the activity of pancreatic digestive enzymes was studied in white rats with induced food anaphylaxis. The anaphylaxis is accompanied by significant changes in the activity of digestive enzymes (a complex of protease, lipase, and alpha-amylase), leading to disorders in the splitting and assimilation of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Phencarol reduced negative changes in the digestive enzyme secretion system of pancreas.
