Dentists may find partial denture design difficult. This is often due to lack of educational experience. Removable partial dentures (RPDs) are one-off prosthodontic solutions that require proper assessment, planning and preparation, combined with effective design. This article revisits the principles of RPD design. Clinical Relevance: One in six people in Britain have some form of RPD. Many of these are unworn. For future well-being of patients, improvement in RPD provision is essential.
