Spectrochimica acta. Part A, Molecular and biomolecular spectroscopy 2013 Mar 15Fluorescence quenching of Rhodamine B base (RhB) in DMF solution has been studied at different concentrations of the amine Triethyl amine (TEA) and n-butyl amine (NBA) at room temperature. It has been observed that the fluorescence intensity of RhB decrease with increase in the concentration of the TEA and NBA. It has been observed that the quenching due to amines proceeds via dynamic quenching process. The rate constants for the quenching process have been calculated using Stern-Volmer equation. Time resolved fluorescence study and (1)H NMR spectral study have also been carried out and discussed. Copyright © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
