Compound kushen injection is increasingly used to treat various cancers. However, its role in the management of multiple myeloma (MM) is still controversial and requires further clarification. The aim of this study is to evaluate efficacy and safety of compound kushen injection for MM through systematic review and meta-analysis. We are going to search the 6 electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wangfang and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. General characteristics and Specific trial characteristics will be collected from the included studies. The outcomes included overall response rate, complete response rate, 3-year progression-free survival rate, 3-year overall survival rate, and different types of treatment-related adverse events. We calculated the risk ratios as well as their 95% confidence intervals of these outcomes and pooled the results through RevMan 5.2 software. The results of the study will be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication. This study is not a clinical study, ethical approval is not required.
