Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L (hnRNPL) is a type of RNA binding protein that is mainly located in the nucleus. hnRNPL protein, encoded by the gene located at 19q13.2, is an important member of the hnRNP family. In recent years, studies have shown that hnRNPL is highly expressed in a variety of tumors and plays a vital role in tumor progression. hnRNPL promotes various biological processes of tumor cells, including proliferation, migration and invasion. In this review, we discuss the clinical significance of hnRNPL by reviewing the mechanism of hnRNPL in the tumorigenesis of various cancers. Copyright © 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
