Bone marrow transplant, more recently called hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSC), is a complex medical procedure in which a patient with or without malignant hematologic disease receives a combination of chemoradiation followed by an injection of HSC, either from the same patient (autologous transplant) or from a healthy donor (allogeneic transplant).
