Indian journal of medical microbiology 2022 Jan-MarCladophialophora bantiana is one of the significant causes of brain abscess in immunocompetent as well as immunocompromised individuals and accounts for a high level of mortality of 70%. The abscess can recur in immunocompromised patients, being managed conservatively with monotherapy and inadequate surgical debridement. The management of such cases is perplexing, posing an onerous challenge. This case underscores the snags encountered with monotherapy and the requisite for repeated surgical debridement and voriconazole in treatment regimen of complicated and recurrent cases.
