In this review, we mainly talk about the main strategies, elicitation, and genetic transformation to improve the yield of active substances by using this system. Meanwhile, we focus on the challenges hiding in the practical application and the future prospects and provide new ideas and the theoretical basis for obtaining numerous bioactive substances from plants.
