Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Achieving clinical and endoscopic remission is the main therapeutic goal.1 Despite available treatment options, some patients present with treatment-refractory disease to approved therapies.2 Randomized clinical trials enable a standardized evaluation of drugs with new modes of action.
