Sexually transmitted diseases 2022 Oct 01Of 39 pregnant women at ≥20 weeks' gestation treated with benzathine penicillin G for infectious syphilis, we identified only 2 mild Jarisch-Herxheimer reactions. There were no immediate fetal sequelae. Data from our study do not support the recommendation for routine admission for the treatment of infectious syphilis in late pregnancy.
