Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignancy of the anal canal, and FDG PET/CT is recommended in its nodal staging, radiotherapy planning, and response assessment. We share an interesting case of dual primary malignancy of the anal canal and rectum, which was detected by 18 F-FDG PET/CT and confirmed on histopathology as synchronous squamous cell carcinoma.
