    Understanding plant gene regulation has been a priority for generations of plant scientists. However, due to its complex nature, the regulatory code governing plant gene expression has yet to be deciphered comprehensively. Recently developed methods-often relying on next-generation sequencing technology and state-of-the-art computational approaches-have started to further our understanding of the gene regulatory logic used by plants.
