Description:: The thrombospondins (TSPs) family of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins comprises 5 members, TSP1-5. TSPs have have a complex multidomain structure and are able to interact with multiple partners. They interact with other ECM proteins, and contribute to the associations between cells and between cells and ECM. TSMs divided to two subgroups: trimeric subgroup A (TSP1 and TSP2) and pentameric subgroup B (TSP3, TSP4, and TSP5).
